The Technology

Phone3Words uses a deterministic algorithm that converts any phone number into a unique three-word combination. The system is built on a carefully curated dictionary of 4,660 highly memorable words, each selected for being short, common, and easy to spell. The algorithm ensures that the same phone number always generates the same three words, and uniqueness is maintained within each country code to maximize memorability.

With support for 196 country codes worldwide, Phone3Words provides over 101 billion unique combinations per country—more than enough to cover every possible phone number while keeping the words short and memorable.
